This year will mark 10 editions of Formula One racing at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Here are 10 of the most memorable moments of F1’s first night race since it began in 2008.

 

The biggest controversy at the Singapore Grand Prix occurred in the very first race. What seemed like an innocuous crash by Renault’s Nelson Piquet Jr at Turn 17 turned out to be an elaborate ploy to gain race advantage for his team-mate Fernando Alonso, who won the race.

A monumental error by Ferrari as they botched a pit-stop refuel for Felipe Massa, leaving the fuel hose still attached to the car as it was exiting the pit garages. The error cost the Brazilian a shot at winning the inaugural race. He lost the title by one point.
